Thankyou for purchasing this hand-woven product helping people in a Fair Trade leprosy colony on the outskirts of Dehli. Artisans started arriving in the leprosy colony for treatment in the 80’s. Because of the stigma attached to leprosy the patients didn’t have any work. With the help of The Leprosy Mission a weaving unit was created which took indigenous weaving techniques and turn them into an income generating Fair Trade project. In early 2014 there was around 15 weavers who rely on this income and produce these beautiful items.
