Fair Trade, Ethically Made Paper Mache Handpainted Star Decorations
Whether it be ornamental additions to the Christmas tree, embellishments along the window pane or a bright feature above the doorway, this star will fill the room with festive joy!
From recycled, sustainable paper and paste the Artisans beat, grind and shape the pulp mixture (sakhta) onto a wooden mould. Shaping with a smoothening tool into a well rounded sphere it is then left to dry. Once dried it is cut in half, mould taken away, hook inserted, rejoined and smoothened out. Then it’s painted a base colour, then carefully painted its artistic design, and finally finished with a safe, synthetic, unleaded varnish.
