Handmade Fair Trade, Ethical Hand-Painted Trinket Box

Beautifully handmade and handpainted trinket box. Each box painted individually with care making this a unique box. Great for gift giving or for your personal trinkets.  

Made from recycled paper, the Artisans beat, grind and shape the pulp mixture (sakhta) onto a wooden mould. Shaping with a smoothening tool into the desired shape it is then left to dry. Once dried the box is painted and then finished with a safe, synthetic, unleaded varnish.

Uplifting people in India who have a disability, often because of the effects of leprosy, polio and other childhood illnesses. This project aims to develop artisan's skills and empowers them to earn a living.
